Configit A/S, the global leader in Configuration Lifecycle Management (CLM), today announced its newest customer Arçelik, the second largest white goods company of Europe (according to market share ranking based on quantity) with 12 major brands including Beko, Grundig, more than 30,000 employees, and products sold in over 145 countries.
With the aspiration to be brand leaders in all markets, Arçelik approached Configit with the goal of establishing a digital solution for their local product managers. When defining product variants to introduce into their markets, regional product managers were spending too much time defining and managing products and determining price levels.
“We realized we needed to minimize local product managers’ R&D and central product manager dependencies,” said Yekta Caymaz, Information Technologies Director, Arçelik. “Implementing processes to create product and price information before local product managers started their configuration processes would not only save time but eliminate configuration errors.”
Arçelik integrated Configit’s Enterprise Product Configuration solution with their existing PLM and ERP systems to configure and price products for different regional markets always based on the latest product definition coming directly from the engineering department. Configit’s Configuration Lifecycle Management Solution supports Arçelik in breaking down silos between R&D and engineering, product management and product costing, helping establish cross-functional digital processes that result in a faster time-to-market, improved customer experience and accurate proposals.
Configit is the global leader in Configuration Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions and a supplier of business-critical software for the configuration of complex products. All Configit products are based on the patented Virtual Tabulation (VT)™ technology, which has redefined product configuration by offering greater speed and better handling of complexity. Virtual Tabulation enables Configit to deliver powerful, easy to use configuration solutions to market-leading global enterprises.
With 32,000 employees throughout the world, 12 brands (Arçelik, Beko, Grundig, Blomberg, ElektraBregenz, Arctic, Leisure, Flavel, Defy, Altus, Dawlance, Voltas Beko), sales and marketing offices in 34 countries, and 22 production facilities in 8 countries, Arçelik offers products and services in almost 150 countries.
As Europe’s second largest white goods company by market share (based on volumes), Arçelik reached a consolidated turnover of 5 billion Euros in 2019. With almost 70% of its revenues coming from international markets, Arçelik is the R&D leader in Turkey – holding more than 3,000 international patent applications to date with the efforts of 1,600 researchers in 15 R&D and Design Centers in Turkey and R&D Offices across five countries.
