Configit outgrows Danish headquarters
On the 19th of September, Configit’s new headquarters will officially be Midtermolen 3.
Having reached 80 employees, Configit has outgrown Kristianiagade 7, where it has resided since 2008. Back then, the Danish software company numbered 12 employees and had just become part of the Andersen Advisory Group, the main investor at the time.
Since then, Configit has been on a strong growth curve, numbering 160 employees globally with offices in the UK, US, Germany, and India. With international brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, MAN Truck & Bus, Fiat, Case New Holland, and John Deere on the client list, Configit has established itself globally as a competent supplier of software solutions for configuring complex products.
Configit CEO Henrik Reif Andersen states, “Configit has developed products that have enabled us to obtain leadership when it comes to complex configuration. With our new Danish offices, we are now ready to onboard more employees and pursue the growth strategy as planned.”
Configit was founded in 2000 by Professor Henrik Reif Andersen and Ph.D. Henrik Hulgaard. The company is based on their pioneering research from the Technical University of Denmark and the IT University, and has repeatedly attracted investors who have seen the potential of Configit. In February 2016, Polaris acquired a 65% stake in the company, and most recently, Preben Damgaard, founder of Navision, one of the most successful Danish software companies to date, joined Configit as an investor and member of its Board of Directors.
The market for configuration software is in high growth, driven by an increasing demand for mass-produced yet highly customizable products. Configit’s software puts it in a unique position to meet this demand. The future looks bright – and with the new headquarters at Midtermolen, Configit has taken another important step on its growth track.
